I've heard that one has two years within completion of their medical education to conduct their internship. Hypothetically speaking, if you were to graduate from your respective college and you didn't complete your internship within two years, what would happen?

You wouldn't be able to register with the medical council and by extension you couldn't work as a doctor.

Does that invalidate your degree or what happens there? If I were to wish to take a sabbatical and potentially return to medicine a number of years down the line, would that be possible?
