Im looking to order parts on micks garage. They have several discounts e.g 10% off oil and 15 % off wipers.

I can only apply one discount in the checkout, anyone know how to apply more???

free post on orders over 30euro so break up your order to get more discounts.

    Yeah, was gonna suggest that.

If you can only get one discount per order, make more than one order!

I would never buy from micks garage again. I bought a set of brake discs this week after providing the reg number and they're totally wrong discs. I contacted the customer service and the girl tried to tell me that the discs fit SOME models of the car, just not mine and basically it was up to me to ensure I was ordering the right part. If this is true what is the point in providing a reg number?

Furthermore, when I contacted Fiat, they told me that the same discs were never ever used on diesel models like mine and only fitted to some petrol models. When I put my reg in the car came up as the diesel, so these discs should never have been offered as an option.

Micks garage didn't wanna know and refused to pay for the postage to return, which will cost €20. They also said if the discs weren't returned within 5 days they won't take them back. Never again!

Maybe it's for the best, if you can't do it properly - It is up to you to ensure you're ordering the correct parts.

    http://www.micksgarage.com/about/buying-guide.aspx
    CAR REGISTRATION LOOKUP
The car registration lookup is a very useful tool to help you get at your parts quickly and easily, however it is limited to the accuracy of the data provided by the Vehicle Registrations Office.
As a result we cannot guarantee that any part found using this service will be 100% correct, you must always verify that the attributes of the ordered parts are indeed correct for your vehicle.
    PLEASE DO NOT GUESS
In cases where you are not sure of the part you require please do not guess and please do not purchase parts to try and resolve a problem through trial and error.
You might ask, is it worthwhile for me to measure the part I need? The answer is always yes, as it helps you to select the correct part first time. Please bear in mind that you will only ever have to carry out the check once, after that we will have your information stored for you.
Remember we are also at the end of the phone/email or through social media to help. Please contact us and we will help you out.

The parts I got relate to a petrol car, not mine. The parts should never have been offered as suitable.

how do I have 7 posts? I posted twice?
    I'm not spamming anyone.

Posting in more than one thread is very annoying for other users. That's what lightning was on about.

Anyway how long ago did they arrive. European distance selling rules mean that you are entitled to a change of mind refund if you notify them within 7 days of delivery.

lighntning, why are you telling lies?
I posted twice about micks garage.
You have something to do with micks garage that much is obvious and you seem to be an idiot.

You can get wrong parts over the counter at local motor factors as well only difference you can quickly pop back for exchange.

that's right it's easy to be given the wrong parts, problem is micks garage pride themselves on customer service and in reality, I've found it to be crap.

Even easier when the customer chooses them him/herself.

The parts were listed as suitable. I spoke to micks garage online before ordering and was told they were correct. Parts come and they're not suitable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,060 ✭✭✭Kenny Logins

Do you have a link to the discs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,060 ✭✭✭Kenny Logins

BTW, I have been in the position of ordering incorrect parts myself, and when I checked back it was clear where I went wrong. The reg lookup just narrows down the search, it doesn't (it can't) pinpoint the exact parts for YOUR car.

As mentioned above, a trip to the local factors is best when you're not 100% certain.

kenny, whether you think its my mistake or not doesn't interest me. I've stated the facts.
I've bought plenty of parts before.

It is your mistake. They didn't send the wrong parts, they sent what you ordered. Fact?

I have some facts too. I've used Micks Garage and have had good experiences. I've no affiliation with them.
Double check what you're buying people!

I thought they had a fairly good returns policy, had you binned the boxes or something?

No they will take them back, problem is the cost to send them back is almost the cost of buying them. They told me they were suitable for the vehicle and turns out they're not (and this is from Fiat) and should never have come up on their system as suitable. Furthermore, I had doubts that they were right and spoke to them prior to placing the order, only to be told they were right. I feel they should cover the cost of sending them back.

Sorry to labour the point, as I've already said it here, but it's for the benefit of 'kenny loggins' who doesn't seem to understand simple English.

ive worked in a breakers yard as a parts man and i've worked on a lot of cars and even after discussing on the phone with micks garage i still got sent the wrong parts (they took them back and sent the right stuff foc)

you'll get as good or better value in the local motor factors and no issues if they are wrong

Ironic, considering that it's your inability to understand simple English that has put you in this position, no? :pac:

Anyway... the bottom line is you have to return them. €20 sounds steep to me, try GLS for €8 -

    (depending on the box size)

Stay away from Micks Garage if you want my advice . If you need to return an item they will claim it was damaged by the courier, and get you to claim the refund from the courier not them ...Not trustworthy at all .. seems they know all the ins and outs of how you should claim your money back from the courier and will even take pictures of the items for you..., by the way it's not their problem, but they are doing you a favour ..??? but you wont see a penny from them ?????. They must have a fella in the back stores breaking the returns all day so they dont have to pay, either that or there must be some massive ramps outside the stores door that the poor couriers fly over at 100 mph
