Strange things you've found

Last night coming back from the pub we found a load of fireworks and a bad painting of Audrey Hepburn in the hall of our apartment building.

Naturally we took these offerings. I don't know what they mean. My hope is my gf lets me blow up the painting. It's kind of weird and the eyes follow you around the room.

What strange things have you found on the way home?

An inflatable pool ring. We then spent the following hour trying to throw it over a neighbors chimney. This kind of chimney. That was a fun 3AM

No, the hallway of our apartment building is usually filled with things that people are throwing out. In the past there has been chairs, potted plants, a box full of cassette tapes, various chest of drawers, old electronic equipment. Some of it had been in bad condition and some stuff it's just people have no space for anymore. Someone didn't want the stuff anymore and was throwing it out.

Last week someone left a foot high china Jemima Puddle Duck at the base of an old lime kiln on our beach. It was there for at least a day then vanished again.

In the same pottery vein a neighbor had 2 china cats (over a foot tall) left in her garden recently?

Actually a friends apartment complex was like that. The halls constantly littered with shoite. But one day we walked through and there was one of those old Technics stacked sound systems there. We initially thought it was just there ready to be brought into someones new place. About 2 weeks had gone by and the thing was still sitting there. My friend said fcuk it and decided that he was gonna take it. Went out the following day to take it in and the fcuking thing was gone. Missed opportunity

Perhaps it fell out of a sock full of pool balls that were being used to beat someone to a bloody pulp.

    Glazers Out!

Why had the boxes got cowboy hats?

Digging the garden several years ago I found a James II shilling.

I found a very cool ring years ago, well I thought it was at the time :)

It was a coin ring, had an eagle atop a swaztika, and on the back of the coin it had 2 thunderbolts, what I now know to be called sig runes.

Dont know what I did with it. Easy come, easy go , as they say.

I remember well over twenty years ago in West Cork walking in the woods I found a cardboard box with some vinyl albums, one was Led Zeps Physical Graffiti and another was by The Byrds. There were also some 70s German counter culture magazines. It was after raining quite a bit so they were soaked.Theres a lot of German hippys living in that area so I imagine someone dumped them.

My mother lost her wedding ring years ago. My father bought her a replacement but it wasn't the same. Almost 15 years later she got a phone call from someone who thought they might have her ring. Turns out they were digging their back garden and found what they initially thought was a washer. On closer inspection they thought it might be a wedding ring so they cleaned it up and yes, it was a wedding ring. The guy remembered that my mother had lost her ring and thought it might be hers and turns out it was. It really made my mother's day to get it back.

We were taking out an old bath tub in our apartment back in Germany some years ago.
When we got the tub out, we found an old empty glass Pepsi bottle underneath it, completely intact. It must have been left there when the bath was put in in the mid-60s.
Funny thing is it looks exactly like a Coca Cola bottle, even the Pepsi logo is done in the same script at Coca Cola today.

Hope you kept the bottle, it may be worth something.
Coca Cola sued Pepsi for copyright infringement on the design of that bottle and won (this was early 1960s). Pepsi bottles have been different since then.

Found rusted nunchaku and a hash pipe in the parents' garden, on different occasions.

Found a rabbit's paw in my own back garden. I wonder if it was dumped there by a neighbour's cat.

In the early 90s when I was about 17 I found a porno playing card on the street with a pic of a naked woman spreading her legs. When I took it in the school and showed it around I was briefly the most popular guy in the class. You diden't get to see stuff like that too often in pre internet days.

I found an unopened bottle of beer under the hedge when I was doing some spring cleaning. It was three years out of date.

It wasn't much of a waste, it was only Heineken....

I was walking in the mountain behind my house one time with my then boyfriend, and laid out on a rock was a pair of trousers and a top with one of the arms cut off, looked like they'd been there a while. Short of some kind of 127 Hours scenario or a one armed man sitting down for a rest and then being abducted by aliens or leprechauns or something I can't for the life of me figure out what might have happened.
