eFibre available but address not enabled?

I'm currently residing in the "Pelletstown" area of the rollout map (just above Phoenix park) eircom.net/efibreinfo/map/ . After a few months of waiting, it is finally available apparently.

However, when I check my line, I get the following:

"eFibre is available in your area but your address is not yet enabled."

    Great.

Anybody know what the story is with this?

When eFibre is enabled in an area it seems to be luck of the draw as to who gets connected.

You're probably not near a cabinet.

    Can you get UPC?

The area on the map is tiny and afaik the cabinet is right outside our apartments.

Believe me, there's nothing I could want more than UPC.

Just because the area is live doesnt mean you cab is finished. You are probably on one of the orang or blue dots.

Yeah, the 40% threshold is too low IMO, should be 75% or similar.

My area has gone 'live' a few months back. My cabinet was installed over 2 months ago, and the guys working on it said it was finished (that was two months ago) but it is still showing blue on the map and checking the number on the Eircom site says it is not available. I am about 300 m from the cabinet.

Any ideas why this is not live?

Waiting on the installation crews to be free would be my guess.

the same problem here. Moved into new building. Had to order a phone line first from eircom before I could get internet. The eircom technician called (chap form KN Networks) and said that he connected it up and it's in the new fibre cab 700m away. He gave me the cab number along with the new phone number and said it was fibre enabled.

I called Eircom sales the following day but they said it's coming up as "eFibre available but address not enabled" so I hung up and rang the technician. He was telling me 100% it's fibre enabled and to give the cab number to the sales team. Called the sales team back but they just said they have no clue about cab numbers and that it was DSL only - take it or leave it.

Anything I can do? I feel this is like a "computer says no" moment when physically the fibre is there.

You line hasnt been prequalified for fibre yet, as it didnt exist when the cab was commissioned. Speak to tech support and explain the situation.
