    Absolutely reprehensible.

Whether you believe in it or not. If the Orange Order and Loyalists want their views respected then they are going the wrong way about it.

Cannot post links do maybe a moderator can fix the link.

    m.u.tv/News/PSNI-aware-of-Mary-statue-on-bonfire-pics/8595a267-f379-4a4e-a0bb-e8103ad7cb33

It was taken from a memorial to a suicide victim.

Even if it was just a church one it's still reprehensible and immature to burn something so dear to a large amount of people.

It's Her title (out of respect).

I will even say PBUH after the Prophets' names if speaking to a Muslim.

Imagine if that was a figure or statue of a different religion? Say Islam or a Jewish one?

The usual Catholic bashing brigade would be on their case like flys on sh1t...

    This happened before I recall.

Some PUL community leaders got involved and had the statue returned to where it was stolen from.

    *this just in*

Combustible stuff burned in a fire.

Meanwhile, in other news, flags something or other and marching up and down. Drums.

If you read my previous posts you'll see that I said "even if you don't believe".

She is a revered figure of Catholicism and thus a respectful title is appropriate.

Similarly, I would refer to Prophets of other religions appropriately and respectfully.

That's pretty damn low if true.

Pathetic willy waving exercises like the whole 12th thing just strike me as being so pointless.

To be fair, if that's her name, then that's kind of that. Dumbledore's full name / title is Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Order of Merlin (first class), Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, and Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot. I'm sure he's cool with Dumbledore, or maybe Albie, though.

Peace Be Upon Him (used in reference to or after speaking the name of the Prophet Mohammed, Muslims began saying this after the Jyllands Posten controversy some years back).

    Really?
You are incapable of seeing why the burning of a stolen statue, of a figure whom is central to the catholic religion, by a group who go out of their way to goad and provoke the Nationalist (and mainly Catholic) people living a few yards away from them may cause some problems.

You can be as cool as you like about being an atheist etc but all the bravado in the world doesn't change this being an inflammatory and nasty stunt. It's actually an incredibly immature comment you made, so I assume you are in your teens or younger?

The sentiment behind the comments doesn't change though, would you have said the same about Muhammad of the Islamic faith?

    I doubt it.

Precisely, he only apologised when he noticed it was a suicide victim.

He / she doesn't seem to care about the religious aspect of it.
