    1. What is your budget? Unclear, I'll say 800ish at the moment.

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, general use, some light general development work

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Not including peripherals in cost. Just the machine itself and components.

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

5a. If yes, what size do you need. Using 21.5 to start with. Will grab a 23 or 24 at a later date.

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1920x1080 to begin with. Hopefully powerful enough to support 2560x1440 eventually.

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Nope

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yep. Planning on getting board/cpu with featured OC capabilities.

    8. How can you pay? Visa Debit Card/Paypal

    9. When are you purchasing? Over the next several days hopefully.

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Donegal

I already purchased a Fractal Design R4 as the case. Planning to go with 4670k/4690K as the CPU. MSI Z97 Gaming 5/7 is mobo of choice. Graphics card is undecided, was considering an R9 270x of some choice. Also going to add an SSD of some persuasion. PSU of 700W or so be adequate?

So far, I have my eyes on these as the bulk of the parts:

    Already bought:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fractal-Design-Define-R4-Case/dp/B008NFWNFO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404926896&sr=8-1&keywords=Fractal+Design+Define+R4

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-006-MS
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-250GB-Basic-Solid-State/dp/B00E391OX6/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1404911964&sr=1-1&keywords=Samsung+840+EVO+250GB

Those three should bring me up near the 600 euro mark. Will probably slide beyond 800 when PSU and GPU are taken into account.

    A few questions:
Is it worth trying to spend a bit extra to get the 4690K instead of the 4670K?
What is a good PSU that will not leave me shortchanged later?
Is 2400mhz RAM worth working a bit harder to get?
Is the R270x a solid choice? Will it limit me if I want to upgrade to 2560x1560 later?

A 600w will do that setup.

How much is the xfx one?

    Scratch that brought.

Oops, did not see reply. Probably going to go with dual MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozrs. Will be pushing slightly above 650W, but should still be decent.

Would it be better to go with a single card solution?

No doubt an sli 770 is a strong set up. I'm sure you already have gone over benchmarks.

Personally I'd prefer a single powerful card over sli/crossfire. Noise cooling and driver issues all avoided. That's just me.

I'm sorta hoping to get a 1440p monitor down the line. Was planning to add a second card then.

Is there a single card option that might be okay? The r9 290's are reputed to be okay, but I wouldn't like to be caught short.

I'm not going to bother with 4k till I see how the latest batch of Gpu run next year. And guessing Prices of the monitors will be a little better too.

    Look at the r9 290 tri x .

As far as duel cards, .. nvidia are better at keeping on top of things driver wise. So a gtx 780 is also another way to go. It will keep you very high/ultra on 1080p and handle 4k down the road.

I am using r9 290 ,ATM. Great part. I got my one for €380 on computeruniverse, but its usually cheaper on hardwareverstand. Its somtimes hard to get it there(HV). Last time they didnt have this card for 3 month in stock

Just going to go with the gtx 780. It looks a monster. Slightly more than I wanted to spend but it should demolish everything in sight for a long time.
