Ok, my story goes like this, I completed 3 years of a 4 year course at nuig and graduated with a level 7. I received a grant for these years. I then started a level 8 course at wit last year where I got to skip first year (as my previous course as also science related) and go straight into second year. I applied for the grant last year but was refused, the reason given being I had already attended a level 8 course(even though I only did 3 of the 4 years and finished early with a level 7). so can anyone tell me when I will be entitled for a grant in the future? or will I ever be again?

As this is a level eight course you may be entitled to something, but you would need to either A)Fund an equivalent number of years on your current course at Level 8 yourself, and then you would recieve something for the remaining years (probably not much use to you given the length of time on the previous course) or, B) if five years has elapsed between finishing your previous course of education and commencing this one.

I think if you do year 2 and 3 then you would be eligible for year 4.

    Ring SUSI and ask though

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

If you can prove you have progressed from a level 7 to an approved level 8, you should have got it last year, so maybe you didn’t highlight that point or you’re on a completely different course direction, where you are now starting on a level 7 for year 2 and 3 with your final year been a level 8, where the course you started is advertised as a level 8?
Was there a gap in study?
It’s hard to say as your facts aren’t clear?
