    Hi all,

With last years new taxation on all vehicles i need to get my fathers tractor taxed for the upcoming harvest season as this is the only time it is on teh road.

How do i go about taxing the tractor? Do i need to get tractor put into my own name and then tax it from there?

As far as I remember is just change ownership and then go for the tax, otherwise u gotta repay back tax.

Presume the best bet is to ring the Tax office.

best try register tractor in name and tax I.M.O..my son and i did so with car,it might slip through no questions asked and less hassle, especially if more families than one with same surname in area anyway you arent asked for prsi number.
if it fails its fill up form time but try reg and tax 1st.
i may be wrong but i think you can send in tax book with tax fee and change ownership in one go and council send book to Shannon to register new ownership but tax disc is sent to you pronto

I havent heard that at all . it may depend on different county councils.
If they try to be awkward. just transfer ownership to a friend ,and then transfer it back
