Tightening Spark Plugs (Ford)

Hi Folks...I am a newbie to car maintenance so please bere with me. I am attempting to change out the coil pack and spark plugs on my Ford Mondeo (2004) this weekend. My only question is how to tighten the spark plugs correctly?

All the videos I have watched have warned not to tighten too much or you will break the threading...Then again I dont want to leave them too loose.

Any advice for me please?

Google the particular spark,plug data sheet that you are installing and it will give you the required tightening torque. As you're a newbie I would get a torque wrench. Most pros go on the feel and know when they're tight enough

I was trying to avoid the cost of a torque wrench as they are pretty expensive. I was going to use one of these Spark Plug wrench (http://www.woodiesdiy.com/Product/Draper-14mm-Spark-Plug-Wrench/20140/4.15.4#.U7xtN5SwJMo to tighten the plugs up, going tight but not too tight if that makes sense.

Is that a bad idea considering I have never done it before. Is there a strong chance I will muck it up?

dont think you will either get them loose or be able to tighten them up tight enough and i would if doing it get some copper grease and lightly,i said lightly smear threads to stop them seizing in the head.
why you ask we had a focus in with rusted plugs and core plug leak,i expect plugs to sheer off in head and if those core plugs are those allen key job ones i can see head off omg.

something like this would be better.enter plugs by hand and nip up then about 1/4 turn is usually enough.
