Sick feelin in the stomach

Was drivin down the motorway earlier and there was a Garda car pulled in with one Guard holdin a speed gun out the window. I was payin attention to my speed all the way down the road and I'm fairly sure I was on or under the limit!

If I was speedin would he have came after me or will I get a letter in the post? I'm not sure how it works.

Letter in the post. You're probably grand though even if you were slightly over the limit.

I ate an out of date yoghurt at lunch and can definitely relate to the feeling and the speeding thing.

I was speeding to the jacks most of this afternoon so I was.

Yeah a speed gun can't take pictures, they need to have to stopped. The stationary cameras in boxes and the vans care the ones you get letters in the post from!

    You're grand

Even if they have one of those ones with integrated video ?

it'd be like a handheld gatso yoke really ?

    http://www.teletrafficuk.com/products/speed-enforcements/concept/

As well as recording speeding offences the operator can record and mark other offences such as

    no seat belt,
red light violation, and using a
mobile phone while driving for later process.

The system will allow instant playback and review of offences.

The Concept can also be used in conjunction with automatic number plate readers.

Yeah but are they in use by the gardai?

On the motorway I think they're only after the serious speeders, some people clock up 160kph in a 100kph zone, that kind of thing..
A few miles per hour over the limit is usually overlooked

If only there was a place people could go to to ask car type questions. Someone ought to start a car forum.

No one is interested in his business.

Speak for yourself. If he wanted privacy he wouldn't have posted and he'd keep his curtains closed.

Yeah but are they in use by the gardai?

That stuff is auld 2010 carry on

It's all about getting legislation changed and then querying the cell-phone towers.

After a while they'd build up an idea of who is speeding where - then set up the speedtraps

From the other side even really ancient Nokias could more or less tell your speed - has to be that way to get ready for handing over from tower to tower i'd guess

I've exactly the same concern from last Thursday, think I was doing about 123 at a push and am a bit paranoid. Especially as im on a provisional and shouldn't have been on the motorway in the first place,

Maybe it was a barcode scanner (and not a speed gun) and you were on some odd version of Supermarket Sweep.
