Early start, late start, rescheduled programmes

There’s nothing worse than recording a show only to find you’ve missed the ending or missed it completely because:
    1) the station just started late
    2) this week's episode was rescheduled to an hour later to allow for a football match
    3) the tennis/snooker/tiddlywinks match ran on later than expected
    4) the tennis/snooker/tiddlywinks match finished earlier than expected!
    5) the station just moved it from Monday to Tuesday mid-season, for no apparent reason.
    6) etc, etc, etc.

We’ve all been there. Ok you can defend against this to some extent by setting your recording to start a bit early and end a bit late but that only catches small discrepancies in start time.

Wouldn’t it be great if the stations had some way of notifying us …using something like - I dunno – say Twitter? Who are we kidding.

Well there’s nothing to prevent us warning each other. And that’s the idea of this thread. Simply post a warning if you notice a schedule change (or the potential for a schedule change e.g. due to a preceding sports event).

    It might be useful.

To start us off here’s one...
The E4 Friday showing of the last ever episode of How I Met Your Mother next week is on at 20.30 (30 mins later than usual).

This argument would be better served if you hadn't used "How I met your mother" as the example.

Too late to be of help this evening but Edge of Darkness on BBC4 shifted from 10pm to 11pm start. Ditto next week.

    (Did anyone record it tonight?)

University Challange was at 7.30 yesterday to allow Eastenders be broadcast at its normal time of 8.00 on BBC2.

I couldn't see any reason for the change of time for Edge of Darkness though. That was annoying.

Too late to be of help but the last episode of Arne Dahl on TG4 last night shifted from 10.30pm to 11.10pm start.

Did anyone manage to record it correctly?

Warning: The Fall on BBC 2 tonight is an extended finale, running to 90 minutes instead of 60.

Any of the UK channels seems to have it sorted that recordings automatically adjust to the time change. RTÉ are somewhere between the abacus and Videoplus.

Family Guy S13 on 3e seems to be scattered randomly over Mon, Tues and Wed at random times. What are they at?

They don't always catch a late change - only got the end of Blade Runner on BBC Two as I'd also recorded the doc about the making of same which started immediately after!

According to DigiGuide listings Family Guy S13 premieres on Tuesdays at 11pm and is repeated about 2 hours later (except for next week when it's on Monday at 11pm because there is boxing on the Tuesday).

The other Family Guy episodes that are randomly on - are from Series 12.

From 28 Jan they will be repeating Series one at random times.

As I said this is from the listings but as I'm not watching the program I couldn't comment further.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say that the episode on the Tuesday at 11 pm will be S13 episode 4 and not S12 E5. :P

Peed off with RTE2 last night! I Sky Plussed Person Of Interest and it started late but the recording cut off before the programme finished.Annoyed as it was probably the most important episode since the show started!

The new season of Episodes will start later on BBC2 NI this Monday. Most regions have it at 22.00 but BBC2 NI have it at 23.50. It's unclear if the NI later time will continue throughout the season.
