iPhone 5 lock button

Yeah, having problems with the iPhone 5 lock button. Basically not functioning anymore and I've seen that Apple have a replacement program running for specific models, and mine fits the requirements for a fix, but my warranty ran out well over a year ago and they want me to pay €100+ to get it sent out.

Just wondering does anyone know any alternatives to getting this fixed? Any repair centres that can do this? Already using the assistive touch feature but it's rather inconvenient to the button itself.

Most repair places should be able to do this in about half an hour if not quicker.

As said you can get it fixed in many shops (for probably around €20-30). However I don't get why the apple program wouldn't be an option. Your iPhone couldn't be more than 2 years old as they haven't been around that long. Apple write: "The program covers iPhone 5 models for 2 years after the first retail sale of the unit." If you're eligible it won't cost you anything

I remember it quoting me something in the region of €100+....don't know why. I'll take another look at it though. Are there any Apple stores in Ireland? I only know of one in Dublin

None in Ireland, give Apple a ring and they'll set up the repair for you.
