Water pressure pump advice needed

We refurbed our house last year which included a complete re-plumb. A pump was fitted and everything is linked to it with the exception of kitchen sink (cold water) washing machine, utility room (cold water) and cisterns. The noise from it is a pain particularly at night if you are in bed and some one is washing hands etc. I was wondering is there any downside to turning the pump off and only using it for showers?.

None whatsoever, except that there will be a drop off in the pressure. Switch it off at night and get some sleep.
