    Hi guys,
Just looking for some advice regarding Berlin. I was thinking of going there for 3 nights at the end of the month with the girlfriend and was wondering what your experiences of it were?
Is it worth visiting? Are there many touristie things to do? Are 3 nights too much? We visited munich last summer and loved it.

Any info would be great thanks,
    Da gamer

There's enough to occupy you in Berlin for weeks, whatever you're into. Loads to see during the day and nightlife is up there with anywhere in the world.

Visited last summer, stayed for 3 nights and wish we had longer. So much to do and see.. My new favourite European city! Can't wait to go back..
We stayed in Kreuzburg area, lots of great bars and restaurants and a real hippy vibe. Very close to other areas of interest and easy to get around.

I'm going to Berlin soon fir a few days. What do you recommend going to see? I'm not interested in clubbing/pub scence. Thanks

Went to Berlin back in February to visit a friend, and I already wanna go back. Loads to see and do, the Berlin Wall is fantastic, as is the Bundestag. You'll have to try a kebab and some currywurst if you do visit. Even if you're not big into the pub scene, I'd recommend visiting a few, as every one of them have their own quirky features. There's also some great flea markets where you can pick up just about anything, and if you want a day trip, Sachsenhausen concentration camp is a train ride away (not exactly cheery, but it's meant to be a really interesting tour).

All the museums are worth seeing (but you'll have to pick and choose). If you're lucky you might catch a quality opera for a fraction of what you'd pay in London?

Saw this and have a question.
anyone ever go to tropical resorts outside berlin?
Looks like it could be fun but not sure if it will just be bigger version of trabolgan abroad.

    thanks

no question it is worth a visit. brandenburg gate (reichstag, tiergarten, victory column), checkpoint charlie, east side gallery, olympic stadium, berlin cathedral, topography of terror, fernsehturm.

berlin is so spread out that it would take you the best part of 3 days just to visit the few things i have listed

The Einstein museum in Potsdam is a must. Overall a fantastic city. Possibly the best combination of history, culture and sheer buzz. I love it.

We were there in March, and are going back again in October.
I booked this Segway tour before I went, but changed to a 2 hour tour of the Jewish quarter instead, as we felt 4+ hours would be too much.
No need to book in advance either, they are located beside the TV tower and it was the best thing we did over there.
It sure is a great city, and you will not be short of things to do over there.
For the shopping, I'd recommend the Kurfurstendamm area, and definitely visit and have lunch in "Ka Des We" you will love it.

I hear mixed reports, but I've never been. Overall it appears to not be with the trek, but if it was closer, then yes.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Nothing beats getting an informed opinion.
    Thanks.

Berlin nightlife can be as chilled out or as crazy as you want it to be.

On my last night there I went for a quiet drink and ended up in a nightclub that was in an emptied out swimming pool.

One of the most quirky, enjoyable and fascinating cities out there.

Sorry to post a question in your thread but just wondering about the airport SFX that Ryanair fly into. Is it miles from Berlin or easy to get and out of?
Any recommendations for middle priced accomm too would be great!
    Thanks

Its on the S- Bahn. Aer Lingus fly there too. About 40 minutes to downtown. Its a bit of a walk from the terminal to the S Bahn station under a covered walkway. You buy tickets from a machine which can be complicated if you don't have German. Remember to get the ticket punched as you board the train.

Thanks. 40 minutes isn't too bad and we're both in our 20s so won't mind the walk. Thanks for the advice
