Im really confused, there has been many posts but still its confusing.. im on Disability Allowance paid into bank account i took 1 week holiday in April... Been hospitalized 4 times the last 3 months. Would like to take a longer break now 2.5 weeks. Are we allowed 2-3 weeks for the whole year, or is this per certain time period..

    Mixed info everywhere:
Citizens Information says following: Under legislation you have no entitlement to be paid Disability Allowance while on holiday. However, in practice Disability Allowance may be paid for 2-3 weeks while you are on holiday abroad

On Disability Application form (information) section it says following: The Common Travel Area is Ireland, Great Britain, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
You can spend brief periods on short holidays, studying or travelling outside the Common
    Travel Area

Are you actually going to leave the country for 5 weeks?

No of course not. For 2 weeks. Although it would be a holiday. Im planning to see a private doctor/specialist to get a different opinion on my condition, that was recommended by a friends who has seen this doctor. And no im not flying to Thailand to see a specialist :)

Ah that's grand. Youve no worries at all then. If you were going abroad for 5 weeks you would have to tell them but don't worry about a fortnight down the country.
