The fuel gauge on our ferguson 188 is showing full all the time except when its turned off it shows empty. Any ideas as to why its not working properly or do i need a new sender unit??

Yeah most likely the sender is at fault, but check that any part of the wire/terminal is not touching the body/engine where it shouldn't be.

Thanks for the help it was indeed the sender unit that was at fault, there was no float attached to it at all.
