    Hi all.

I'm.faced with a small dilemma. I'm expecting latest addition to family in 9 weekso will be on maternity leave from my own job till next feb \ March

I'm going to take a career break from my public sector permanent full time position. in which one is allowed obtain employment in private sector

A private sector employer whom I have heard good reviews about are looking for staff
I have all relevant qualifications experience and a lot more education beneficial to the job than what they require

I have for a long time been considering applying to them as they are 5 miles from my home my current job is 77 miles from my home

    However the dilemma

Do I register my interest send my cv. And explain that I soon will be on maternity leave and will not be available to work until next March and if any posts come up then would they please keep my cv on file

    OR
Do I forget about it and just send my cv. Next yr when I'm ready for work.??

I've a friend working in England during his career break..

Apply next year when you're actually available. If you personally know the employer get talking to him or her if you can, otherwise i doubt the employer would appreciate a cv saying you're available to work in about a year's time.

Right o thanks I was thinking only if they held cv s and then notified candidates if further positions come up as on their website they have a section where if you want to work for them register your interest.

But yes it will be March 2015 @least when I get going again

Yea those "databases" on their websites usually don't count for much. If you have an in demand skill they'll want you straight away. If you don't, you'll never hear from them again. there's always a steady trickle of job hunters so they're not going to dig out old applications.
