Is there any bargains? Harvey Norman always seem to have a sale on of some sort.

I can't find any info about what they sell

For sure. I have went to a couple of these so called sales to find low level brands reduced to sell at prices that reflect their value.

With the exception of discontinued lines going on sale to clear these sales are all bluster with Harvey norman.

If you want to buy a few appliances at once, you can walk in any day and they are better for a discount than the others in my view. You need to be buying volume to get this from them though.

These so called sales are consistently crap though.

Could've sworn there was a sale on there last weekend.

Once saw a table for half price in one of their marque sales. It was missing a leg though

Yeah if only they had some kind of catalogue of products that people could connect to using their computers, maybe on a network of some sort. You know like a web but world wide...

It's true, every day they have radio adds about their 'craziest ever sale' for 'one day only'. I've no idea how they get away with it. My experience is that sale items tend to be pretty much the same price they were 2 weeks beforehand.

Thanks for the link PaulEoin, prices pretty bloated in that Sale, For similar products you're much better off hitting up Tesco Direct UK with Parcel Motel, far better brands/value at lower prices. eg.

In Harvey Norman's "Sale" - Finlux 32" LCD TV: €259

Tesco Direct: Blaupunkt 39" LED TV with Freeview: £199 (€260)

    That's my 2 cents anyway.

Harvey Normans are a rip off

They have losing money hand over fist so I cannot see the rip-off myself.

They are ripping off the consumer for what they ask them to pay.

High rent, poor sales due to high prices.

So you think that the prices should be excessive when compared to other stores

As this is bargain alerts can we discuss same rather than the ins and outs of Harvey Norman, other forums exist for that. Thanks

do you really feel it neccesary to have 2 threads on harvery norman cluttering the forum, would one with a bit of nattering going on be better?

Do they price match ? After a desk and can order from Viking for 15 euro cheaper including delivery but would suit me better to go pick it up this weekend.
Desk is reduced on HArvey Norman by tenner already would there be a hope of getting them to match price ?

depends on the price of the desk, if it's dear they might have some leverage in negotiating but if it's a cheap model it probably wouldn't be worth their while

Thanks . Probably not worth my time trying desk was 79 down to 69 and can get it on Viking for 39 plus vat and fiver delivery so about 55 euro.
May order online and wait for it I think .

Just out of Harvey Norman in Cork in Kinsale Road. Every time I pop in I come out saying "never again" I was pleasantly surprised today.

picked up a 2DS for €99 and they had a few nice items on clearance.

    12gb ps3 for €149, 500gb was €239 I think, 3DS was €189 and a few other bits

Was in Limerick last week price matching a tv. Bought it matched to currys. Saw they had a Sandisk 8gb memory card for €4.99 which for an 8gb Sandisk from a bricks n mortar store is excellent.

Harvey Norman are always on sale really because they buy in considerable bulk and price matching every Monday morning helps. Guy said "try to buy on a Tuesday or later" , guessing the price drops with competitors over the weekend or during the week and they don't react till Monday when they go checking.

Is it not illegal to have so many 'sales'?
