A few days ago, just in case anyone doesn't know, or hasn't gotten the notification to update. I - and lots of others, it seems - had an issue whereby the update froze after a few minutes, but if you do a hard reset after a few mins it should restart with 7.1.2 installed.

is it stable enough or are there any issues?

Yep that exact thing happened to me.

I took a look at the details and saw no reason to bother with it.

Unless I'm missing something I'll hold off for the next one.

I updated because there's nothing more annoying than the red dot over the settings icon.

Seems stable. I didn't have the freezing issue mentioned.

I updated it because of the constant polling and losing of wifi (logs on the router), it has fixed that anyway.
(I think that was the main reason for the update)

I've noticed a huge improvement in battery life since updating. It bombed two updates ago, but seems to be back to respectible levels now.

Dammit I had to cave, too.

There's no escaping! Which is exactly what Apple want...

Noticed that as well, probably as a result of the lower polling rate on the wifi

It improved my wifi greatly but has completely messed up the battery on my ipad. After 8.5 hours of charging, I only have 54% :( I rang apple and they said to send it in for repair which will take up to 14 days. I have no laptop at the moment so am loathe to send it away for so long but don't really have a choice. Raging.

I keep settings on page two in 'Utilities'. :D

Updated on the 4s, but now I'm experiencing serious battery drain - 5% on the half hour trip to work this morning in the car. No BT connected and no usage.

    Also, iMessage isn't working.

Doesn't sound good. Turn off and turn on iMessage again and that might fix it.

Have you given your 4S a hard restart? That might force anything draining the battery to stop doing it, and failing that, I'd try a fresh install.

Thanks. Yeah I've tried that with iMessage, but it just won't register.

Fresh install as in download the firmware and do it via iTunes?

Yep, alt-click restore and select the firmware. And don't restore from backup if you can help it.

    Cool, thanks.

I've just erased everything and set up as new iPhone here in work. Success on the iMessage front. Hopefully battery hasn't dropped a percent yet (after a few mins usage it would be easily down 5% - 10%).

    So far so good...
