Opel astra 1.4 downgrade to peogeot 1.1 sw

    Hi all i wana ask people out there my plan and need info, I own an opel asta and i am loving the car but i wana get something more bigger cheaper so i am thinking of swapping it for a peogeot 206 sw 1.1, To ask more i drive an opel astra 1.4 h model 2004 and the car i am looking at is a 2006 sw, The car he wants more cash about five say but i am willing to pay it if it saves me long term and need help on people whom know both of these cars

    You would be taking a big step backwards! We've had both of these cars, whatever about the astra, don't go near a 1.1 peugeot, it is very slow, unresponsive and sluggish, it isn't too light on petrol either. Our 206 is a hatch, so I can only imagine the estate can only be worse! There are lots of better options out there.

    Dam really hoped it would use a lot less on petrol and slow I can deal with if I got my money out of the petrol I seen a lot if bad reports on this car. Thanks for that guess I will keep looking. Need something like 1.1 and big

    They can cause a lot of bother with electrics alright. It's not that awful bad on petrol, it claims around 45 mpg on some of the reviews, I don't think I've ever seen ours doing near that - then again I don't be in it too often. My 1.8 diesel mondeo claims 45 mpg aswell, and it seems lighter on fuel. You're going to be restricted with "big" estate type cars at 1.1 litre, most of the estates tend to have bigger engines.
