    Innocent

If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

He barely tries to hide the guilt himself, look at his book cover..... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4f/If_I_did_It_2.png

    if I did it

I'm a 90's kid, so I know nothing about O.Js case but on 10-15 years time I'll probably post this same thing about Oscar pistorious. :-)

"And the circle keeps on turning".

Watch this space...... For a year or two maybe ten.... Fifteen?!

    Thread needs poll.

I always thought he was 100% guilty till I watched a couple of documentaries last year (links not to hand), so now Im at 75% certainty.

I havent seen a better law team put together before or since. Johnnie Cochran was superb.

Did I read that Johnnie has told people after the trial that he wasnt sure of OJs innocence? Im sure I did

"Man with good lawyers gets found innocent of something he did"

You could replace "good lawyers" with "money" there as the latter led to the former anyway.

He was found liable for the deaths in the subsequent civil suit. Some small justice.

I'd be interested in watching those documentaries if anybody has the name, but will search myself.

Can't remember much about the thing myself, but yeah I think most people think he's guilty.

The trial was huuge, and massively dull. The whole world was on tenterhooks awaiting the verdict. Me, not so much.

I'm too young to have followed the trial at the time, but from what I know of it all, I think he did it. What I think doesn't count though.

The verdict was correct, as the evidence was either tainted or insufficient to convict.

wasn't he named the killer in civil court?

Christ those speeches are cringe worthy now. So America centric and as for the whole "god will judge you" stuff... Pass a bucket!

Also, for anyone interested there's a documentary here: http://youtu.be/hVCOeL6bu_Y

Yeah he did it all right.

Vincent Bugliosi wrote about the case and did a documentary on it for TV which i'd recommend. He basically put the case to rest, there was no doubt OJ was guilty.

Just finished watching the show on More 4 about it. Seems like yesterday getting in from school and it would be on constantly on Sky News. Remember the hype for the verdict was huge.

Goes to show the character of the man getting arrested and locked up for armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008, guilty of the murders without a doubt!

He's innocent of being not guilty.

He didnt write the book to be fair.

It was that tour de force performance, the tainted evidence and the army of lawyers Simpson put together that got him off. Also, this was the first big name trial I can remember running live on TV (Sky News here) so the lawyers no doubt kept that in mind

He confessed on The Friday Night Armistice back in 1998...

In the US it's a completely different burden of proof. The criminal trial required proof beyond reasonable doubt. The civil suit only required a preponderance of evidence against him which sets the bar far lower. A civil court verdict there really means nothing in the context of a criminal trial.

Personally, I believe that he either committed the crime or knowingly took the blame for it (which also renders him guilty).

After my time on a murder trial jury I have a great sympathy for the people on OJs Jury... they had to sit for soooo long, I'm sure they did the best they could...
    on the otherhand...

    OJ Simpson, Duping delight...

The most important thing to remember is that if OJ never murdered (or didn't) Nicole Brown South Park would never have been able to give us the wonderful Chewbacca Defense.

So he's not 100% guilty , he's whatever % of guilty that works out to $33.5M

Of topic slightly, but some of the lads in work call me O.J. They reckon I get away with murder!
