Child unsettled during holidays

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this but i wonder do any other parents have problems with their child during the holidays. My son started a new creche last Summer when i returned to work after a maternity leave.

He was a bit unsettled for a while but then he started Montessori in Sept and he thrived in this environment. He liked the teacher, got on well with his class and generally thrived on the structure & learning.

He attends Creche from 9-2o'c, Montessori was from 9-12o'c but he didn't seem to mind the additional 2 hrs. But during each of the holidays (Christmas, Easter etc) he became unsettled and i could tell he wasn't happy though he didn't act up too much. But now Summer is here and he is kicking & screaming every day going in. He misses his teacher (it's a very small creche so she was hired purely for Montessori and is let go for the Summer) and most of his classmates are no longer attending as they have a SAH parent.

I know it's early days but I don't know how i can survive 9wks of this, it's so upsetting for everyone, i'm in work crying for the 1st hour of every day after dropping him off. I'm at home in the afternoons and for the Summer we're arranging it so that he will just do a 4 day wk in Creche to reduce his Creche hrs even further but this is the best we can manage.

He starts school in Sept and assuming he settles well in school (fingers crossed) i wonder will be become this unsettled every time there are school holidays
