    From Met.ie:

SUNDAY: Again some nice sunshine further east, but showers mainly near Atlantic fringes will become more widespread during the late afternoon and evening as they move westwards across the country. Some of the showers will be heavy, again with the risk of thunder. South Leinster and east Munster possibly escaping dry. Highest temperatures 15 to 18 or 19 degrees Celsius, mildest over Leinster and the south midlands. Northwest winds will be mainly moderate in strength.

When did Met.ie ever get it right?

Entry in for the W126 to take its place on the MB club stand

'Sunshine and showers' is MetEireann's default forecast - my Accuweather has a big golden sun for Sunday :)

    Lets compare weather apps!

My Weather Underground app says Rain for 11.00 to 12.00 and 17.00 to 20.00 with temps between 17 and 19 degrees and wind of 24 kmh

My yahoo weather app says sunshine and clouds

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,003 ✭✭✭Zoo4m8

Yeah....yr.no says sun/cloud for the morning, overcast afternoon and sunny evening.. And temps 12 to 16..

    I'm going with "light rain".

If I can't sneak up myself in the morning I may drag the whole family along.

    *Fingers crossed for the former*

I'll be there in either the 96 or Midget (not entering either car)

As above, if I can get up early enough and quietly, hopefully I can take the Midget :D

I'll be sure to bring a rain jacket just in case.

Always a great show either way. I plan on being there too ....with obligatory rain jacket in tow:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,946 ✭✭✭Bigus

    I'll be there,but on my bicycle ,

as they said in an episode of the Rockford files about a rock band

" my 450 is in the shop " (as in body shop and 450 SE)

I have my car entered for some time. I wonder if an extra entry (a small old motorbike) could be brought in, in the morning and placed beside it.

Is it small enough to fit in the boot?

    :pac:

Possibly not, a Suzuki GT380 won't go on a bicycle frame either, even if the tyres are a bit narrow. :pac:

I'll be honest, I have seen a few prime examples of why people say to leave the kids at home. Even today there were a few. Worst was a kid (about 6/7) throwing a bottle of water on the bonnet of a Merc.
I brought my 7 year old nephew along, I have done a few times. He's always well-behaved or he stays in the car. He knows how much work goes into most of the cars from watching me so he knows to respect them.
Its a bit unfair to say all kids should be left at home, but some simple manners wouldn't go a miss, and not the old "sure he's only a kid, what would he know etc"

Some pictures. Studebaker Dictator (last one) is great name.:pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,227 ✭✭✭Thinkingaboutit

Another few. That last vehicle is not currently on Garda duty:pac:. Although it looks nice than a van or a scruffy Mondeo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 96 ✭✭kfog

That was a great day despite the odd shower.
Do have to say i have never heard so many adults telling their kids not to touch the cars at a car show before... also never seen as many adults sitting or leaning on cars having their photo taken.
Have a load of photo's to upload now :-)

Another great year at the Terenure Car Show, a few showers of rain but apart from that a fantastic day.
Here are some photos I took

It was a great show as usual. (Only minor complaints I have are - more portaloos required around the field..always long queues at same. And more autojumble stalls please!).

I liked that Renault 19 Chamade too! I may even know it's first owner?!

Being an Opel fan I liked these three...a lot!

Dont hate ALL kids.just the un-supervised ones.....saw two yesterday going around pulling at the car doors to see if they could get in...when i asked them to stop and where their parents were they just shrugged their shoulders......tbh, i felt uneasy even talking to them...expecting them to scream "PAEDO"......thats the world we live in now...
Great show as usual.....but nothing new really....and i too would like to see more trade stalls.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 646 ✭✭✭v240gltse

Great show ( as always )

that mercedes 540-k was for me the car of the show. I know if i owned it there would be a rope off area it as the amount of people ignoring the don't touch notices was ridiculous .

by the way what year is ? ?. and agree there weren't enough portaloo's spread out around the grounds

    regards

    brendan

Well I'd have to agree with that, it shouldn't be up to anybody but the parents to discipline the kids and unfortuneatly a lot of them don't. But I think it's also nice to see children enjoy the cars, as long as they don't try to damage.

I had my wee man with me and he was reminded to not be touching the cars and was very respectful!

That said he couldn't resist a touch of the steering wheel on the AC Cobra - but sure who could? :D

Anyone who looks like a character from from Disney's "Cars" was a hit. This is Sarge!

Great show though I was disappointed not to find any of the old TVRs that were there last year.
