When to arrive in airport - Dublin to Malaga flight

We are booked on the 7am flight to Malaga in two days time and will have to check bags in and go through security etc that morning. We were thinking of getting the Aircoach to airport that leaves our area at 04:45am and is estimated to arrive at T2 about 05:25. Will this be enough time (1.5 hours assuming no delays on the way) or should I go for a taxi instead? I guess the air coach could also be busy and take longer in this peak season. Airport Genie service is fully booked at this time and will have to go through normal security (1 child).

    Thanks

I would say it's cutting it too fine. The bag drop lines tend to be long as is security. I wouldn't risk it if it was me

I think the fact that all Airport Genie slots are full is an indication of how busy the airport is going to be so I think it's too tight

It's peak time at the airport. Both terminals will be exceptionally busy with business travellers, T1 in particular can be mayhem.

Add in that you have a child in tow and it's a recipe for a heap of stress potentially. If you can get to the airport earlier, you really should. I'd allow two hours at least. My preference is to be airside with the possibility of worrying about getting a Latte or a Hot Chocolate than stuck in queues for check-in or security worrying about if I'll make my flight.

Thank you all for your feedback.

I will take the taxi route and aim to be there two hours in advance of flight - last thing I would want is to be stressed out the 1st morning of our holidays and running to the gate. Better be safe than sorry.

We took the 7am flight to Malaga a month ago, arrived at 5am at the airport, also had a child in tow. The timing was just right, last thing you need is to be rushing with a child. On our return flight we were stressed and made it to the gate as they were doing the last calls as there was a large queue to enter the gates through the passport checks. It may have been just that day but don't get caught out by this either. Enjoy your holiday :-)
