Hi. As a complete beginner, you won't go far wrong with Dunlop clubs. Is there a Heatons store near you? They do Dunlop clubs at very reasonable prices. They also sell individual clubs so maybe you could start with a half set e.g., 3 wood, 5,7,9 iron, sand wedge and putter.

You will find good 2nd hand clubs also on Donedeal and Adverts.ie. The beauty of these sites is that left handed clubs tend to be much cheaper. If you're going this route, buy clubs with a decent size head and, unless you have a very fast swing, go for regular steel or graphite shafts. Ebay is another option for you.

Warning! Many old sets for sale will come with the words, "Ideal for a beginner." Many of them are far from ideal for a beginner because the heads are too small, etc.

Hope you find something suitable. You won't regret getting hooked on golf! ;)

I just noticed that the 3 links you put up are all UK sites with sterling prices. Poatage would probably be £15-20 on top of the price.

Shipping is free with sports direct so it would only be €140, seems like a good deal. I'll check heatons first though, thanks

I live in Cork. The golf shops here have some great beginner sets at very reasonable prices. You may find similar ones around Limerick.
