I hope im putting this this in the right forum.
I was with 3 broadband about a year ago, left them now with vodafone, but out of nowhere i got a letter from stubbsgazette demanding me to pay them 16€ or legal action will taken. Now i tried calling three but was left on hold for like 20mins so hung up.Im sure i dont owe them a penny.
Is the stubbsgazette letter something to be worried about?

The company which owns the brand 'Stubbs Gazette' in Ireland will, for a fee, write to a debtor with vague threats. You have nothing to worry from them and should throw the letter in the bin. They are not a party to any contract you ever had with 3, this is a marginally legal form of intimidation.

If your customers are ignoring your requests for payment then it may be time to send a letter of demand from StubbsGazette. Sending a StubbsGazette Demand Letter can be a hugely cost effective tactic and very often means avoiding the cost and inconvenience of going to court.

When you send a demand letter to your customer, they are advised to contact you directly and they are warned that if they fail to do so, they are at risk of appearing in StubbsGazette.

Why should I send a StubbsGazette Debt Collection Letter?

With every cheque run, debtors have to make hard choices over which debts they are going to pay and which debts they are going to ignore. Whoever is chasing the debt plays a big part in that decision-making process. If in the same week your debtor receives three debt collection letters, it will be the one from StubbsGazette that puts your invoice to the top of the pile

In fact, some 83% of Irish debtors who receive a StubbsGazette demand letter for payment respond within 48 hours.

Truth be told you probably would owe half the €16 or less. Stubbs would be tacking on an admin fee I'd say.

Dig out your old bills or bank statements and make contact with 3 to sort this out. Did you have any correspondence with 3 to cancel the broadband?

stubbs gazette? is that not a badge of honour? seriously if everyone who was in debt went into SG it would be thicker than the phone book and all the game of thrones books combined. jaysus id feel left out if my name wasnt in there.

i can picture it now, all my neighbours buying the stubbs gazette to see if anyone they know is in it. i never use roly eyes but today, especially for stubbs gazette:rolleyes:

Ye I gave them my 30 days notice to cancel nearly a year ago. I then moved house and only got a hold of this letter since I know the people in my old house.
