Cutting off Moulded Plug Warranty?

As title suggests does cutting off a moulded plug off an appliance invalidate the warranty/guarantee?
I have seen a few cases lately where the warranty has not been honoured because of this. Interested to hear other peoples views.

I don't, I see where other people do it say to get a flex up through a hole in a work top. I advise against it.

well if you were doing warranty work and seen some of the ham fisted fitting of plugtops you also might be inclined terminate the warranty, moulded plugtops are put on for a purpose, a proper and tight connection.

use a cable grommet - wood, metal, plastic available ?

Or you could make a short extension with plug above the worktop and a trailing socket behind the machine. Never need to cut off moulded plugs again!

Or go the next step and get a socket installed under the worktop. This is the sort of thing that really should be done before the kitchen is (re)fitted.
