Any one put round bales hay on slats for a while before stacking tightly in the shed.

not sure where i heard it but someone told me once that it causes dampness in the bales

Same as that, just don't open them.
You'd be surprised the amount of lads would open for a sick animal (so contractor told me once) leaves an awful mess to agitate supposedly

Funny enough we were agitating a 3 bay shed last week that wasn't emptied in 4 years . One bay had turf thrown in it , the other had hay thrown in it for a few summers and we only used the last bay for cattle for 2 years . The hay and turf side mixed fine but the cattle bay we had to dig out with the the mini digger to let water get at it . I wasnt expecting it to go that way !
