    Hi,

I am in the process of renovating and extending a detached house. As part of this I wish to demolish a single storey flat roof extension measuring approx.. 800 sq. foot to the front of the house, so have a few questions if anyone can help:
    1) How much approx. should it cost for the demolition an removal of debris?
    2) How long would this take?
    3) Are there specialist companies that do this work or would I be better to get the contractor who will do the new extension to also do this?

    3. the main contractor will do this

(you're aware you'll need planning form these demolition works so why not discuss tender/construction strategy with the professional submitting planning and doing your detailed drawings)

    Hi BrianF,

I have indeed received planning permission to demolish this extension and build a new one. I got a QS to price the whole project but one cost that stood out to me was the demolition cost so I was looking to get some independent opinions. Haven't had a chance to discuss with QS as he sent me costs a day before he departed for a 3 week holiday.

Waste disposal is expensive. Your Qs will know better than anyone else how to advise you let him have his break and come back to you.
