A lot of fees on account

    My Uncle has a current account and asked me to contact you.

    He noticed there's fees being taken every few months.
    Notified fees were taken in December 2013 and in March 2014 and then on June 27th 2014 €12.60 was taken.

    What are these fees and how come he was never told about them?
    It seems to be a lot of fees on this account.

    I heard if you're over 55 you don't have to pay fees. Is this true?
    He is considering changing banks to avoid these fees.

    Your Uncle can apply to have a Golden Years account once he is 66, here is more information.


    The fees your Uncle can see on his account are normal current account fees, which apply on a quarterly basis. Here is a link to our schedule of fees and charges.


    Also, here is a link with tips on how to minimize fees.
