Just looking for some advice :
The wife's uncle, (who is ill in hospital at the moment & she's looking after his affairs temporary as his sons are in Australia) has a 9 acre field of meadow to let, it's suitable for silage or hay, land was reseeded 5 years ago, not grazed this season but not fertilized. Have been told it's good quality no weeds etc. What is the average going rate for meadow at the moment ?
    Thanks.

    M.

With all the hay that was made over the last fortnight and prices dropping and hay weather gone I would imagine demand would be poor.

10 a bale from guy that will pay you
If he slow to pay you need a,few quid for the trouble of chasing him

You would probably be better off baling it,and then sell off the bales. That way ye no what it cost to cut and bale.

This is not an option as it's over 90 miles away, she just wants to let it to someone with all the gear etc. just for a reasonable price, would charging say €5 per bale sound OK ?
