Searching for someone connected to Turvey House, Donabate, Co Dublin in 1939. My Grand Mother Mary Naughton was in service in Turvey House from June 1939 probably through the early 1940s. Anyone that may have a connection to this house, a relative, friend, or older relation that may have worked on the property or known the family - I would love to hear from you.

Hi MLS, can't help you myself but there is an historical society in Donabate run by a local historian called Peadar Bates who might be able to help.

    Contact details here:

The house is now gone unfortunately. It was knocked down in the early 80s. It was owned by the Barnewall family who were wealthy land owners in the Donabate area. Turvey golf club was built on the site of the house, but that closed a couple of years ago and the lands were recently sold.

Some details here that you may have already seen. http://humphrysfamilytree.com/Barnewall/turvey.html

Peadar definitely is the man to contact.
