Roof rails/box rent or buy?

Having kicked myself for the last month after missing out on the cheap roof rails at Lidl, I've been looking round again.

I will probably buy a set of rails, but can anyone suggest a decent pair at a good price (€60 ish)

Secondly, I've looked at a couple of roof box hire websites and the going rate seems to be around €60 per week.

At that rate I reckon it would be better to just buy one - does anyone know if they can be hired any cheaper?

Car is a Skoda Octavia Estate, with integral roof rails.

I bought a roof bag from roofbag.com. €100 delivered. split it with my bro. complete with duffel bags for easier packing.

I was looking myself lately, and did a bit of pricing around as well. When all was said and done, I decided that buying them was the better option for me. try micksgarage.ie I got mine there - theres often discount codes as well. I needed the full rack (no rails on my car) and the box, got it delivered to the door for just over 300

Managed to obtain a set of the Lidl ones, thanks to the power of boards.ie ;-)

Now just need a box - the roofbag sounds like a good idea, but I'd need something quite long, ideally around 2 metres. I know you can get boxes that big but not sure about the roofbags.

Anyone selling a long box?
