connecting lg tv to laptop

Hi, Can anyone tell me where i get the lg code to connect the laptop to the lg tv.?

What do you mean by the 'LG code'. Typically you need a HDMI cabke to connect a laptop to a TV or the Google Chromecast dongle can be used for the likes of YouTube and other apps such as the Google Chrome web Browser.

ok i have a lg smart tv, on my laptop i can see this;

DIRECT_AP[TV][LG]42L...security enabled network

when i try to connect to it asks for a securitykey or password

Thanks for the link Degsie, but i can just about turn the laptop on.
