So i booked flights from Knock Airport to Liverpool for August 21st and it cost me €115 for the flights over and back and im after looking at booking again just to see what the cost was and now its €15 each way for the exact same flight! I dont understand how the flights can be cheaper almost 2 months after i booked them but anyways, is there anything i can do to get that cheaper flight? I've already paid for the flights so..yeah.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Basically no.

Pricing for flights changes all the time

Nope. That's the nature of the way they and others sell tickets. If they still have plenty of seats left as the flights get closer they reduce the price to ensure they sell.

If you wait even longer you will probably see the flights go up again.

Remember seeing a great chart of something like fares on 1 million seats sold in the US price over time before travel, can't find it now but similar chart here... A wide amount of variables and equations determine daily pricing...

You have no comeback whatsoever, they gave you no guarantee that you were getting the lowest price, you effectively paid the price for guaranteeing the seat so far in advance. Not even Ryanair know what the pricing will be like over the period leading up to the flight date, it totally depends on the pattern of bookings - how many people book and when they book.

maybe cancel and claim on your travel insurance
then rebook at the 15e rate!

You can't claim on insurance unless you have a legitimate reason to have had to cancel.

ryanair flights tend to be best about 6-7 weeks before flying, if it's just a regular weekend. big events skew that though.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. 5 - 6 weeks beforehand is usually the best time to get short haul flights. Paying over €100 for anywhere in the UK on a Ryanair route is pretty extreme imo, all the major UK cities can be got for around €10 - €25 each way if you're flexible and even if not flexible then you should never pay more then €45 each way unless it's a last minute thing.

Nothing you can do about it now but at least you know for the future! Just don't be in a hurry to get flights until about 2 months in advance and then start checking prices every or every other day.

If the price had gone up would you have been happy to pay the higher price? Or do you only want a downward link to prices?

Actually, Ryanair flights are at their cheapest 2 -3 weeks before flight time.
Ryanair just have everyone brainwashed into thinking its the sooner you book the cheaper it will be.
Their secondary brainwashing is that if flights arent all gone that they are cheapest 5 - 6 weeks before flight.

Track some of them yourself and you will see what the sweet spot is.
My company tracked Ryanair flight prices for about 2 years as part of a big marketing strategy that hasnt been used yet for a magazine.
So i've seen a lot of data points for this.

You can easily track it yourself now by just taking screen shots of google flights every day.

Nothing you can do I am afraid, sometimes I have benefitted by this getting real good deals closer to flight times. It's a little like playing poker trying to decide when to strike, personally when they are at a price I feel it good value I buy and for the sake of my sanity I never look at the price again before I travel :D
