Best practice?

    Hello All,

Perhaps a little over the top but just wondering if there is any code/best practice set out for home alarm installation? E.g. wiring colours for tampers, location of PIR's, location of shock sensors etc... As I said a little over the top but would be nice if I could use standard practice.

    Regards,

    Leo

Wiring colouring is up to individuals generally Red for + & Black for - is common practice. After that many use Red & Black for alarm & Blue & yellow for tampers.
PiRs ideally should be located in a corner facing away from windows or glass. On an average size window one inertia sensor is sufficient. If in doubt use 2.
