I'd be much obliged if anyone could tell me what the interval is for changing the timing chain on a 2003 MK2 Ford Mondeo? I've started to notice a ticking noise from the engine, especially when accelerating- could this be related to the timing chain?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ticking might be injectors seals

    Petrol or diesel?

The chain etc. is fairly saucey from Ford if it's diesel, and the labour hefty too. The time mine went I was able to get a bare block for 200 euro, although you could end up with the same thing.

    It's a 1.8 petrol
