Bath Panel corner bath too short

    Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can shed any light on how I am going to fix this problem.

I recently had a bathroom fitted, the plumber installed the bath too high - the result being the bath panel is too short. He did not realise his mistake until the bathroom was fully tiled.

The shop where I purchased the bath & panel said that the panel are a standard height & cannot source one for the height the bath is now at.

To say I am peeved is an understatement - however I now need solutions as to how I am going to solve this. Plumber is out of the equation as he has f**ked up big time, not only on that issue so I refuse to let him back into the house.

Its a 1400x900 left hand corner bath - if anyone can think of anything that can be done please advise - also not too costly as I have already spent alot on this work & its not completed.

    Thank you,
    HH

How high is too high, what sort of gap is left?
You should be able to make a bath panel from vertical wooden laths, I've seen it on straight baths and it looks quite good even as an afterthought.
Another possibility is make some sort of plinth to fill the gap at the bottom.

Approx 3 inches. Will have to measure this evening for the exact measurement.

Was hoping not to have to get anything made - am just thinking of the cost of it.

I'll take what you said on board & see what the best solution is.

    Thanks

What about tilling up the side of the bath? looks better than a panel imo.

Not sure that tiling would work considering its a corner bath? I could be wrong

    i would suggest

Replace bath side panels with a frame on which you put marine ply then tiles

or a plinth as suggested above by slimjimmc. all this enables you to do a 1st class job with the costs only being materials.

If you don't want to do it your self get a carpenter.

Watch that you don't damage the seal around the wall and bath top also seal the join between the panel and floor

How did you chose the plumber that did the job ?

    What is on the floor

There is ply on the floor - then tiled on top of the ply - its an upstairs bathroom.

Plumber was recommended by a friend. Absolutely dispicable "work" in every thing that was done. He had the bath panel but obviously never measured it.

There is no side panel to the bath - its a corner bath. The panel is one unit

    Post a pic.

A thin sheet of marine ply formed to the bath profile then mosaic sheet tile. Wouldn't cost the stars either. Only inconvenience of tiled panels v plastic is future access can be more difficult but there are ways around that too.
