recently I found a job where I was told to go only after two weeks. The owner runs her own company and I think has little exp in hiring. If I were her, I wouldnt hire myself but I said yes because I thought I would learn as I go along. She needed someone more experienced and I think she should have gone through a recruitment agency. She told me that I dont suit smaller companies and would to a large one instead as I have worked in larger companies only.

My question is that for this job I had to contact my previous referees and they gave the reference. and with one of my previous referees I didnt get along well. I had a slow start there because they were doing system changes after 3 months of joining. There was lots to learn and I think that was one of the reasons they were annoyed because it took me sometime to pick up the new system and the methods. So What should I tell my referees? is ok to say that I left my job because I suit bigger companies? and when should I tell them, ie now or when I find my next job where I will need their reference again

I'd only use referees that I knew would give me a good reference.

I'm not sure exactly what your question is though.

    I'm also a little confused.

If I understand correctly, you were fired after two weeks. You now want to contact your referees to tell them you are no longer in this job.

I'm going to assume I'm totally misunderstanding, because that makes no sense. But just in case it really is what you mean, you should not contact your referees about this.

    a) they don't care.
    b) they'll think it's weird you told them this.
    c) it might make them hesitant to be a referee in the future.

When you do eventually get close to a new job offer, and you let the referees know - as a courtesy - you will be using them again, you can just say the other job wasn't for you. That's it.
