Employment/court case

    Need help!
I may be applying for a job in dublin airport as a mechanic, will require airside access. Airports are very serious about security etc. I appeared in court over a year ago but the case was struck out. Will this show up on the garda vetting applocation or do i even need to state this court appearance as it was struck out.
Any advice or knowledge on this would be appreciated

The problem isn't the court case. It's that you were charged.

If they ask if you have ever been charged, then the answer is "yes".

If they ask if you have ever been convicted, then the answer is "no".

I have no idea if guarda vetting includes charges that weren't proven or not.

Why not post this in the legal forum or maybe a friendly mod could move it?

If the case was thrown out of court and no charges were brought against you there should be no problem,With Gardai vetting organisations look to see if the person has had any serious criminal convictions which will be notified to the person making an application on your behalf.

    Donkey balls,
Very helpful info. With regards to the case being thrown out do i need to declare it on the vetting form?

Surely that would depend on the questions being asked? If it asks if you've any convictions then you can truthfully answer no, I don't see why you'd offer information you'd been charged with something if they don't ask.

I have had Gardai vetting done on me since the 90,s due to my work,Last time being 2012 from memory the form you fill out has to have every address you ever lived at on it,I don,t recall there being a section for past criminal details or charges on the form.
These forms are sent down to the vetting section in Thurles who in turn get sent back to the employer not the applicant,Unless you had some serious charge against you I would not worry about the vetting.

There is, on page 2, you are asked to disclose any convictions.
If you have been charged, but not convicted, it will not show up on Garda vetting.
