Golf Handicap Question

Anyone know what the rule is for cutting oneself after a Non Qualifying Event (ie Society outing)?

I recently shot 40 points in a society event (at an Away course) playing off 11 (10.6). As a small society we had no CSS but the SSS on the card was 36. I recorded it on the Away scores log at my home club but have seen nothing appearing on Golfnet yet. I haven't played since but am due to play in a comp next weekend.

Have asked a few different people what i should be playing off and advice is broken into 2 main theories. The first group reckon I should cut myself immediately by 1.2 and play off 9 (9.4) and that the golfnet system will catch up. The 2nd group are saying that you no longer get cut for any individual score in a society (reason suggested is because you don't qualify to get 0.1's back) but that by recording the score at your home club allows for a general or exceptional score cut to be made and so until then I should pay off 10 (10.6)

Anyone know what the definitive answer is?

The highlighted piece of above is correct

    Yip, second group is correct(ish).
You could get cut for an individual card if the HC committee find it "compelling"

Player must return a card that betters SSS for the course.
Handicap committee must review immediately but are under no obligation to issue an immediate cut.

    It's covered well in here
