Hotmail link - now my laptop might be corrupted

Sorry, if this is a stupid question but I'm a complete technophobe.

I have gmail and Hotmail. I opened an email in my Hotmail inbox this morning from someone I know. "They" had posted a link and stupidly I clicked on the link. My world has gone mad.

Within seconds I had a txt from an 0044 number saying someone had accessed my account - I didn't respond to it. Yes I know, horse bolted and door.

I had loads of emails (16 last count) all notifications I think but I panicked a bit (a lot) and deleted the lot and logged off immediately.

Now, what do I do? I was thinking of contacting Hotmail.com somehow (if you have a link I'd be delighted) and asking them to have a look at it. I don't want to log on Hotmail at work in case it is a virus and I infect the computer system here, and lose my job. I'm reluctant to open up my laptop and do anything else on it, just in case.

I read the sticky at the top and If I run all of that (if I can) will that sort my problem and will I lose any of my documents or information.

Note to self: should have backed the stupid thing up.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Do a full Virus scan and Download MBAM, do an update and do a full scan and clean also, then you should be fine
