    Hi All,

I normally renew my tax online so this is not a issue for me but my G/F has to go into a Motor tax office.

I was just checking the opening hours for today and seen the Clondalkin one is closed ? is that right ?

Are there only 2 motor tax offices in Dublin ? one in D9 and one in D7 ?

    2nd Question,

My G/F is a disabled driver and gets free motor tax, This is her second year getting it, Last year she went to Clondalkin, Because she gets it for free she has to go to the tax office.... does anyone know if there's any other way to renew it.... and if she has to go in will she need all the old paper work as she would be going to a new motor tax office.. that might not have all the details on file.

    thanks.

That closed about 2 years ago... Clondalkin was the only one we had.

In fairness, the Smithfield one is more City Centre than Northside. It's just over the river and there's plenty of parking near it.

The online system is probably best - motortax.ie. Oh, wait, she has to go to the motor tax office because it's free? What an odd system? You're disabled and therefore have to go physically? Really, Irish systems…!

Online would be fine if it worked.
Just tried to get a PIN retrieval and it says , tax is out of date more than 3 months even though vehicle is SORN'd

Was told on the phone by tax office that I may not even be able to SORN online again or it might show up that I owe tax even if it was SORN'd.

The south side of Dublin is a soulless, vile, abhorrent place. This is really why there is no motor tax office in the locale.
