Unreal stuff. How much will she get for that?

Her first professional appearance... Technically it was her first major too I suppose ;)

Fitzpatricks Top 30 in the Irish Open doesn't seem half as impressive as it did earlier :)

Finished with a course record 63 today in the European masters which should be good enough for 3rd.
She looks to be a real talent.

Stephanie going well today in her second round at final stage of tour school.

Top 20 after 5 rounds will win their cards.

Would be great to see an Irish girl on the LPGA tour.

Hopefully Leona and Lisa will follow suit when they finish at Duke University.

She's finishes 3rd in a Major yet she has to go through qualifying school a few months later.... Something seriously wrong with the way the LPGA are working out the criteria for cards!

Fair play to her but it's a bit ridiculous that she's in Q school after that placing.

No tour cards on offer at any majors unless you win. I seem to recall Duval coming second in the US open a few years ago and not keeping his card.

Ya, I knew they didn't give out cards per se. I was just surprised that her $230k + winnings wasn't enough for a card.
I would have imagined the prizemoney for a top 5 placing in any major would almost guarantee a card.

Just had a quick look at the LPGA money list and I think it's the top 90 that cards. 90th place had earnings of only $100k.

I think the US open winnings didn't count because she wasn't a PGA member at the time???

I saw one of those 30min Sky interviews with Laura Davis. She won the US Open and was asked to go back to Q school. She refused and it was only after that was the rule changed to give a tour card to the US Open winner.

Just looked it up, 1987! Delighted to see her making the hall of fame.

The interview is well worth watching if it comes on again. She is remarkably honest and without hubris. "I won 4 majors but I wish I'd won more" "Yes I am the leading points scorer in the Solheim Cup, but given that I've played more than anyone else, I'd be disappointed if I wasn't".

In the late 80's she was hitting drives 300yds (carry 280). She was 40 yds further than any other women and on a par with long hitting men. It wasn't much shorter than Daly was doing in Croked Stick in 91.

Asked what she hoped people would remember her for, she replied "having fun". What a Gal!

Actually if I think about it she is the polar opposite of Nick Faldo!

    p.s. Go Stephanie Go!

Must be something like that, glad she's looking good for her card anyway.

She's in a 6 woman playoff for 3 cards arm.

They started as 7, and after 3 playoff holes it's only down to 6 of them.

Great up and down from the sand, another one gone so its just between Stephanie and Beck now for the last category 12 spot. The girl that loses out will be in Category 17.

They reckon she will still get into a lot of tournaments which I'm sure she will given how close she came. Should have a good chance to earn her card next year.
