It's bollix.

Hasn't a clue what it wants to do or what genre it is. Mediocre and plodding.

Had potential to be a decent light hearted action romp. Could've been fun nonsense if it just admitted it wants to be 'Taken' and just went for it.

Saw Mark Kermodes review of it on BBC Film ,

He said it was terrible!

I saw the extended cut awhile back and it's not too bad. Costner is wasted in his role and much of the family stuff is dull but there's a few good set pieces and Costner plays a bastard rather well. The biggest problem is that tonally it's all over the place and never really settles into a groove, it tries to be both comical and action packed but is lacking in both departments. With a swift edit and a run time no more than 90 minutes with the emphasis on the action aspects then there's a good film in there but as it stands it's merely a pleasant enough distraction that you'll have forgotten ten minutes after it's over

I saw it the other night, not great but watchable.
certainly not film of the year by any standards.
