Why has Christian Bale never done more comedy?

gWatching American Psycho is two parts, intense and hilarious. The man is entertaining as hell in interviews with that chilled, but passionate/intense attitude, total paradox. He's legendary in his dryness, satire as a yuppie in AP. Sort of like how Tony Montana was a send up of that lifestyle.

I'd love to see him do a real comedy. (Keep the welsh accent)

Depends on what you mean by comedy. As you pointed out, there's comedic aspects to American Psycho, but he also had that in his performances in American Hustle and The Fighter. The guy can absolutely do humour, but I get the impression he's not going to do a full on comedy for the sake of it. I'd say he'd definitely do one if the right material came around which can be rare these days in Hollywood. For every decent comedy there's 10 ****e ones.
