My PSU just died,it only makes a crackling noise briefly when plugged in but does not come on,it seemed a bit fiddly last year or so but wont come on at all now. It is a super flower 450w,any suggestions please on a new one locally or is anyone selling one?

    System spec is i5 3570k(no overclocking) 8GB RAM,HD 7870

I have a super flower 400W from a budget build from a couple of years back,I dont suppose I could throw that in for now?

Thanks in advance for any advice

That 400w will be fine for that hardware, so you're sorted without having to buy any new hardware.

Any decent quality 400w+ psu will be grand, if you're looking to buy new. Maybe look at the Corsair range, their basic CX430w psu is only about 30-40 euro, and its good quality and capable of powering pretty much any single card other than the extremely high end. 7870 would certainly be totally fine.

He has a super flower 400w, he's fine. The super flower 400w is almost certainly superior to the CX430 too. (Not the CX430 is bad).

He said the Super Flower is in a machine still in use though, so he still needs to buy a new PSU.
