Just a guess but was it fitted correctly? Was that checked?

It's an aftermarket part in it so my own sort of knowledge is that the part is a few millimetres bigger then the actual vw golf part

Heat shield is there in tacked...could be a bad sealing on the cat but the people that put it in said its welded on
