I am just wondering do the Gardaí take on people with a mental disability I.e schizophrenia / bipolar?

IIRC, at the medical today, there was a question on the question regarding any mental problems such as depression etc. Don't know if it disqualifies you though.

No idea, but if it is anything similar to the army then not a hope of getting in with the conditions you mentioned. Even things like depression usually need to be several years cleared by a doctor before you could be considered. Basically anything that could be seen to interfere with discharging your duties would be a no. Best advice is to ring AGS and find out.
