California Bar

    Hi,

I have just finished a Corp Law degree in NUIG and am wondering about where to go next. Most people seem to go straight into the LLB but I'm not sure. Is it true you can sit the California Bar exam without a full law degree? I would love to go straight to the FE1's but don't want to rush into a decision I will regret in the future.

    Thanks

As far as I'm aware you need to be a qualified lawyer to sit the California Bar.

Yes, you can sit the California Bar without a law degree if you are a qualified lawyer in another jurisdiction.

When applying you have to check if your degree is recognised if you are not qualified.
Not sure about CA but in NY the Corp law degree is not recognised unless it is a 4 year degree or you have the llb.
